Going to Nineveh

Hey there again! For P-Day last week we went to Burger King and the Swedish missionary museum with a bunch of missionaries. They still had the viking exhibit so we ate some yummy viking bread, did some archery, and played tug-of-war. Det var roligt!

We met with our friend Kristin this week too. She just got back from her trip in Romania! It was cool hearing all about it. We caught up on life and we read some scriptures together and talked about prophets. After she asked us if we wanted to see her bunny farm! We went and one of the bunnies looked just like Oreo, my old bunny. So cute and so many feels.

We had zone training this week as well! Our zone leaders and STLs Ä. Bailey, Ä. Weaver, Syster Woosley, and Syster Wilson put on a great training and gave us lots of contackting advice! They did some funny roleplays too which were enjoyable to watch.

We talked to a lot of cranky people this week too. We kept joking that is felt like we were in Nineveh haha. We made the best of it though and had so many laughs together so that's good. This one old man screamed at us at the top of his lungs and yelled 'Jag hör ingenting!!' (I hear nothing!!) That was a little scary. ;)

We had corellation meeting this week at Expresso House with our mission leader Kristoffer so that was fun! He bought us all carrotcake and hot chocolate. So kind of him. Sadly it closed so we moved our meeting to the tåg haha.

We played Bean-boozled a lot this week with some friends also. It's a game where you have two of the same jelly bean color but they could be a good flavor or a bad one and you only know until you eat it.

There was a baptism in Täby this week too! The sweet Marimba who the assistants taught. It was the sweetest thing ever and so many people were there. The elders did a little musical number and you could feel the spirit so strong.

Sunday was great, I translated sakrament for our friend David who only knows english. Sometimes it's hard especially when people talk really fast! but I try my best haha.

Anyways, it was a great week. Pretty normal and typical week. Hope everyone had a good first wek of school. Weird that it's already started again! Have a great week and vi ses nästa vecka.

Med Kärlek,
Syster Davis

Är du Norsk?

Fun week yet again! It was Äldste Dean's last P-Day in Stockholm so we went exploring around Stockholm one last time with him and went to this sick look out point and took lots of pictures. How fast the weeks go here hurts my heart. I can't even imagine leaving this place. It feels like home now. We had dinner with the sweet Mitchell Family that night too. They just got back from their long summer trip in America and brought us each a bag of Jolly Ranchers. :) Toppen!

We got to meet all the new missionaries that just came in this week too! Perks of living in Stockholm round 3. We got to take them out contacting their first time. It is so fun! So many new Systers are coming in and it's so great. :) I was with the sweet Syster Dargen, it's amazing how good their Swedish is. After that me and Matwaychuk decided to go somewhere new in our area to kontact to get a change of scenery. We found the most beautiful view ever and almost were in tears of how happy we felt. We kept looking at eachother saying 'are we really here right now? why are we so blessed?' Love life here.

The weather has been so bipolar lately too. It has been pouring rain freezing one day and then hot and sunny the next day lol. Typical Sweden. We got some new people in our district as well too so that was fun. Äldste Nielsen from my MTC is one of them and we both had a mini freak out when we saw eachother haha! So happy to be in the same district again as him. We got Äldste Chugg, Ä Hatch, and Syster Trotter as well! So excited for this transfer.

Since it was raining hardcore we decided to go trakting in the nice warm apartment complex. It was quite the experience. A few dudes opened the door only wearing tighty-wities...we tried so hard to not bust out laughing. Så pinsamt.

We taught Kristine with Samuel and Zara this week too. :) Love them so much! Zara's cute son came down while we were talking and said in Swedish, 'Why is that girl speaking Norwegian?' I guess I sound like I'm from Norway lol. Better than thinking I have an Americansk accent! ;) He's so cute. He was shocked I've never played Pokemon Go before either lol.

Me and Syster Matwaychuk are terrible but we've decided to start listening to Christmas music. We can not help it, we are so excited for Jul to come! We know it's bad and we're going to get sick of it before Christmas even comes but we can't help how happy it makes us feel! Haha. Hopefully this next week we will stop.

Anyways, life is same old same old. Just loving everyday of being in this beautiful country. So excited for my friends who are starting missions soon! You will love it so much. There are hard days but those are the ones you learn the most from and they make the great days even greater. :) Look for the little things the Lord blesses you with and remember to always thank Him. Love you all and Lycka till! xoxo

Syster Davis

Församling Grill festen!!

Hallå everyone. This was a fantastic week! For P-day we had permission to go to the huge swedish Göteborg vs. Djurgården futbol game! It felt so weird being at a sports game. It was a blast. :) We all cheered and tried to sing along to all the swedish chants lol.

The next day we decided we were going to go so hard and talk to every person we saw in Vällingby. We prayed very hard to help find someone who needed us. That day we contakted this swedish man who grew up mormon and still believes but he just doesn't like going to church. He asked if we could come over and teach his daughters everything sometime?! We were so blown away and happy. Prayers work.

We got to meet with the sweet Samuel and Kristine this week too! Samuel is from Nigeria and Kristine is from Latvia. They invited us over for dinner so we could see their new babay Enriko. :) Cutest little guy ever. We chatted with them for a while and talked about Samuel's conversion and how they want to go to the temple together. Kristine pulled our her calendar and was like 'when can I get baptized?' :) We all just smiled and we explained to her all the lessons and the preparation we have and she agreed to all of it! SO excited for her!

We had some visitors this week as well! The Jönköping systers!! My MTC comp Syster May and her greenie Syster Christensen. :) I love them so much and it was so great being with them. They came down to Stockholm for train the trainers meeting since Syster Christensen will be training next transfer! So exciting. That meant Syster May got to tag along with us for the day in a tri-pan. We had district meeting and all went around and showed pictures of our familes. Afterwards we went to this yummy restaurant called CaliBurger. I always make fun of Äldste Blackburn for calling California, 'Cali' haha. We decided it would be the perfect place to eat. ;)

Our tripan was so fun though! We did studies together and had some fun deep conversations about faith. I love Syster May. It was so great to be with her again. We both couldn't believe how fast the time was going. Crazy to see how far we've come.

Saturday was eventful! We had transfer calls and found out we both will be staying so that's good. :) Äldste Dean will be moving though so that's sad. We will miss him! Luckily some more of my MTC friends will be moving to stockholm next transfer! Soo stoked shoutout to Äldste Nielsen and Ä Scott! Stockholm är toppen! Also today the elders classy friend Musi from Afghanistan got baptized! It was such a great day and we helped set up fika. Seeing the look on his face when we got baptized was so priceless. :) He had the biggest smile on his face. After we had a huge ward grill fest! It was such a party. Teng and Na came and we all grilled together. We even played a little Badminton together. Love Jakobsberg so much and so glad I get another transfer here!!

Sunday was great. We got to teach young womens and the ungdomar sunday school so that was an adventure...lol. They are crazy kids but we love them. We talked about families and how we can strengthen our own. Most of them know spanish so they were talking behind our back. Typist lol. Love them! After church Lars and Astrid invited us and the elders over for dinner. :) So fun! They made us this authentic swedish-norwegian dinner with kött och lingon berries. Reminded me of what we made for my mission farewell party! Soo good. We then shared our favorite scriptures with them.

Anyways this week was great! Me and Syster Matwaychuk are just loving life. :) We're living everyday with so much happiness and laughs. We are also getting really giddy about the cold slowly creepy in. Even though we'll miss the summer fun, winter is so magical and we can not wait. :) Vi älskar sverige och kan inte vänta för jultiden! Så peppad! Älskar er och lycka till i skolan!

Kärlek,
Syster Davis

Temple Trips and Grilled-Cheese!

Hej hej. Den här veckan var jättegod. For P-Day we had a huge zone volleyball tournament! It was so fun. We met at this beach park in Stockholm and played volleyball and ate Subway. :) We hit up Mall of Scandinavia afterwards with some old friends too and then had dinner with the Robinsons! It was a great day.

Me and Syster Matwaychuk decided to work in a little town called Vällingby one day because they have a store there called Lidl that sells our favorite cereal Nugget Pillows! ;) We worked hard and then rewarded ourselves with it at the end. It was actually really funny we stopped this lady to talk and she just started laughing. We were kinda puzzled and she was like, 'I am a member already. ;)' Whoops haha. It was great, she was super nice.

We had Specialized Zone Training this week as well which was toppen. Äldste Bradshaw and Halterman drew this graph quadrant about living the letter of the law and following the spirit. It was a great training. Afterwards we had a yummy lunch and we sat with Syster Anderson and Hale. Love them so much. After we all played some FHE games together. :)

We met the famous Teng and Na this week too! They are so cute. We taught them about the Aaronic and Melchizedek Priesthood and the different duties you can have with them. They were so happy and said it made sense. Teng sang a song in Chinese for us too so that was treat. ;)

We got to go to the temple with the ward this week too! It was Emilliano's first time there. :) It was such a spiritual day. A couple was getting married too which was fun to see. All of a sudden I see the bride and groom come out and it was Rachel and Robbie!! A few friends from my BYU ward. Such a small world! So fun seeing some familiar faces and cute to see them getting married. :) They were adorable.

We've had so much fun with our little Jakobsberg family this week though. The elders here are the best and we've had so many good times. We volunteered to clean the church together and we had a grilled-cheese party for dinner too. Me and Syster Matwaychuk decided Äldste Blackburn sings like Jesse McCartney lol. We had dinner with the sweet Fhors family on Sunday too! They showed us all these crazy rubix cube magic tricks.

It was a superb week! So many more things happened but not enough time or writing-skillz to write it all! ;) Just know that missions are the best. They weren't kidding when they said you can feel so many people praying for you as a missionary everyday. It really is powerful. Thank you for your love and support. Älskar er och kämpa på!

Kärlek,
Syster Davis

I've adopted a greenie!

Hello hello allihopa! Wow this week has been such an adventure. It started off with a great last P-day with Syster Holley. For her last day she wanted to walk around Gamla Stan and Stockholm one last time. She got her Dala Häst and other Swedish goodies and even saw some other missionaries there too. :) We had dinner at the Robinson's as well. It was a bitter sweet day. The POs picked us up later at night and took Syster Holley to the mission home and we gave one last hug to eachother. After, they dropped me off at the Täby Systers apartment to tripan it up for a few days! The amazing Syster McClatchie and Syster Young!!

It honestly was the funnest two days of my mission life. ;) They showed me all around Täby, we went berry picking while we waited for an investigator, and we talked to lots of people who were too busy to talk because they were playing Pokemon lol. We had so many laughs together and it even started pouring while we were out. We decided to make the best of it and sing some favorite songs together. We visited this adorable little refugee center and colored and made bracelets with these little girls from Syria. They and their families were so humble and sweet, we never wanted to leave. They gave us huge hugs and thanked us and asked us to come back someday. :) So precious.

My time with the Täby Systers sadly came to a close but it was time to get my new companion! SYSTER MATWAYCHUK! She is from Canada and just got to Sweden 4 weeks ago. She started her training in Uppsala with Syster Mecham. :) Since Syster Mecham is finishing her mission soon, I get the honor to be Maywaychuk's new mother (trainer). Love her already! ❤

We have had so many laughs together already and bond on our love for The Goofy Movie. ;) We taught Na together this week so that was fun. :) Lots of our friends have been on vacation so we have done a lot of finding work together. It has been non-stop happiness and jokes together. We found slushies too and took crazy pictures of our tongues. It's gonna be a great transfer and a half. :)

Distrikt meeting this week was fun too. We all were assigned a book in Mormons Bok and we were asked to go around and summarize the one we got! I got 1 Nephi and talked about Lehi and his family leaving Jerusalem. I talked about how I like to picture being in their situation and asking myself if I would be faithful like Nephi or cranky like Laman and Lemuel haha. It was a fun activity. Afterwards the Clouses treated all of us to Vapianos! Såå snäll. Love them.

To celebrate my half-mark we met up with the elders for dinner and decided eat surströmming! It is this nasty rotten Swedish fish that makes people barf and it is a missionary tradition to do it. ;) Me and Äldste Blackburn were the only one's brave enough. We took some great videos. It was the nastiest thing ever. It was a fun night though and Blackburn played some guitar to make us feel better. ;) It's weird to think I've been here for 9 months. I can't imagine leaving this place ever! It is too great here.

Sunday was great as well. Everyone welcomed Matwaychuk with so many hugs. It was a treat today because one of the quorum of the 70 came to speak to Jakobsberg forsamling! He was from germany and talked a lot about staying strong in the gospel. We then came home and met with our less-active neighbor friend. He made us laugh so hard because was so afraid of bees just like me lol so we both screamed when they flew on us. We talked a lot about general conference as well. For dinner Matwaychuk made me the yummiest grilled cheese sandwich I have ever eaten! ;) Så gott. It was a great week all and all and we are excited for this next week. :)

Can't believe it is August! Hope you all have it so gott!!
